When visiting Paris, many people want to stay in hotels near Champs-Élysées, one of the city’s most popular tourist areas. Staying near the Champs-Élysées gives you access to Paris’ best shopping, dining and sightseeing opportunities, and it boasts some of the most historic sites in the country. Because it’s so popular, most tourists are afraid to book hotels in the area, fearing the price will be too exorbitant. While it’s true, some hotels on the avenue can be quite costly, there are still ways to find affordable rates and save money when staying in the area.
Do you want to stay in hotels near Champs-Élysées, but can’t afford to pay high rates? Then follow these guidelines:
- Avoid properties actually on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Get off the main drag, and look at properties around the corner or a block or two’s walk away. These areas are less crowded and in-demand, and they’ll be able to offer lower rates than those actually on the avenue.
- Shop around. Don’t choose the first hotel you find – no matter what the price is. Always do your research and compare prices from various properties, websites and travel companies – you never know when a better deal might come around.
- Be willing to walk a few blocks. Be flexible as far as proximity to Champs-Élysées goes. If you’re willing to walk a few blocks to see the Arc de Triomphe (instead of having it outside your window), you’re going to pay a lot less in the end.
- Go in the off-season. Always choose your travel dates carefully. Keep in mind that holiday seasons and summer time are going to be more popular with tourists, therefore making both airfare and accommodations more expensive.
Looking at hotels near Champs-Élysées but can’t find a great rate? Then consider the Hotel Astor Saint Honoré. With low fees, top-notch service and a great location, you won’t find better accommodations than these.
