Having a tight budget doesn’t necessarily mean a great Paris trip is out of reach. In fact, as long as you can find ways to cut costs on accommodations, you can actually enjoy a pretty affordable trip – one that won’t break the bank or blow your whole budget.
Do you want to visit Paris, but finances are tight? Here’s how to find hotels in Paris on even the strictest of budgets:
- Start looking early. The earlier you can start looking, the better. This doesn’t necessary mean book early, but start to get a feel for how much hotels cost, what areas are more expensive than others and what times of year are costlier.
- Check travel sites. Travel discount sites like Travelocity, Orbitz and Expedia often have great hotels deals you can take advantage of. Some even bundle them with air fare, so you can save even more. Just be sure not to limit yourself to only these sites; you want to do as much research as possible before booking your stay.
- Check hotel websites. Look up hotel reviews, and head to the individual websites of the highly rated ones you’re interested in. See if they have any specials, packages or deals going on, and compare online prices to those on travel sites. You can even call the hotel directly and ask about discounts or specials.
- Avoid major roads. If you want to get a great room rate, don’t choose a hotel that’s on a main road or popular tourist drag (like the Champs-Élysées, for example). It’s okay to find hotels in Paris near these sites and areas, but you don’t want to choose accommodations directly in the heart of them. These properties are more popular and in-demand, thus making them exponentially more expensive than ones just around the corner.
Need to find hotels in Paris, but don’t want to break the bank doing it? Contact the Hotel Astor Saint Honoré. With great reviews, affordable rates and top-notch service, you won’t want to stay anywhere else.
